"Okay, Bridget. That was great!" Stacey noted Bridget's activity on her patients log. Bridget looked to her hands. To the pencil that she had just wrote her neat name with.
"Thank you." She responded slowly. Stacey smiled as she wrote down some more notes. The hospital room was bigger than normal. To Bridget, everything was different now that she couldn't remember anything from before the day she opened her eyes in the mysterious white room.
Stacey closed the log, placing it gently on the table. "Bridget, we need to talk." She kept her voice nice and calm.
Bridget nodded her head. "Alright." She responded the best she could. Stacey smiled. "Your doctor says that you can finally step outside. You can finally go out to see the world as it is now." Bridget smiled softly. The way that would have made any guy fall for her. "Really?" She asked her nurse.
Stacey nodded and placed her hand on Bridget's. "It's okay to be scared. There are a lot of people that are scared to go outside that are in your condition."
Bridget looked to the glass windows, overlooking the distant LA beach. "I don't think I'm scared." She said, softly.
Stacey looked towards the beach also. "Then you'll be just fine, Bridget."
They both smiled as they watched the waves crashing on the shore.
"Oh, Nate!" Stacey laughed into her cellphone as she pulled out of her usual parking spot in the hospital.
Nate sat in his apartment bedroom. "Stace, I want to. But I can't. You do know that I can only take care of MALE patients. If I take care of a girl, then Kelsey will think I'm gonna cheat on her."
Stacey stared at the redlight. "Nate, just tell her that she's a patient. What can you possibly do to a patient?"
"Kelsey thinks that I would probably get her to fall for me. But I didn't say a thing. Now, she thinks I really am gonna do that." Nate closed his portfolio and stared at his mirror.
"Then it's her loss. She's gonna miss out on a really trustworthy guy. I trust you to take care of her. Th doctor said I had to leave her with someone either I can trust and lives nearby or someone I know that lives nearby. You're both!" Stacey revved up the engine as she started going again.
Nate pushed his sandy hair out of his eyes. "Well, I guess. What's her name?" He trailed off.
"I can't tell you right now. They haven't assigned her to me yet. But I do know it's a female and you're probably gonna love her as a close friend." Stacey looked both ways of Tuscany Ave and Manitoba Street.
Nate sighed and threw himself back onto his bed. "Just, get the info. And tell me."
"I can't do that. As soon as I get her into my custody, I have to head straight to your place. Sorry, but that's business." She looked to her phone and noticed that it was only one bar left. "Nate, I have to go. My phone is dying and I really need to get a call from Eric."
She hung up right away.
Nate also hung up after he heard his sister hang up. "Well, Nate...you are going to be a very...VERY...busy guy." He spoke to his reflection with such sympathy.
Bridget closed her eyes, waiting for the door to finally open. When it did, she almost jumped out of bed. "Stacey! It's today, isn't it?" Bridget almost screamed towards Stacey. Stacey smiled and held up a bag of clothes and a suitcase that she explained had all her new clothes in it.
Bridget squealed as Stacey handed her the bag. It had the Chanel label on the front but it was just a bag that had different clothes in it. Stacey took out the shirt first. It was a V-neck short sleeve shirt that was covered in pink and white stripes and it was a tight fit. Bridget pulled out the capri pants that were meant to hug her hips and kiss her knees. Stacey took out the white sandals, fancy diamond earrings, and a size B bra.
Stacey pointed towards the private bathroom with a smile on her face. "Go on and try it on."
Bridget looked down at the clothes. She grabbed them one by one and left to try it on.
She slipped on the bra and hinged in the back slowly. Pulling the bra straps over her shoulder, her hands reached out to the shirt.
Slipping on her new fit capris and sandals worked out fine. It was the earrings that gave her the trouble.
The limp earrings were the only thing she didn't need. Her beauty was already finished.
Stacey watched as the door opened and Bridget walked out as a whole new person she had never seen before.
"You...look...AMAZING." Stacey stated and laughed. Bridget smiled and laughed softly to herself.
How adorable.
